Prologue, Part I: The Surprise

Dear all Readers,

With no new and interesting places visited courtesy of a modern black death called Corona, I decided to revisit my most recent travel- that of the trip to Europe in 2019- I had named my first attempt
"Journey to the West" after the eponymous Chinese novel that details a fictional account of the pilgrimage of Hiuen Tsang (THE Hiuen Tsang who visited India in the time of King Harsha) for it gave him an insight into Buddhist philosophy, in the same way, our Journey to the West would also be an eye opener for me when it comes to the needs of the differently abled and how they are met in the countries to which I travelled.

It all started on a typical summer day in 2019. I had completed the examinations required to obtain my master's degree in history. It was decided to take a good well-earned vacation somewhere. The initial debate was between Singapore and Kerala but all that was resolved after my parents had a consultation with Mitali Dasgupta, a friend of the family who was also a travel agent. I knew nothing of this. I was taking my usual afternoon siesta when my parents returned with the surprise. "There's been a change in your itinerary", my dad announced. We were going to Europe- Vienna, Prague and Budapest in particular. I had my initial mental block due to personal reasons which I will not mention here but thank God they were overcome. For it would really be enlightenment about what people like myself need to lead a better normal life.
